Walking Tour: Lech Valley

Walking Tour Lech ValleyTour: 3 Lech valleys in 4 days
Trailhead: Gramais (Lech valley)

Participants: Andreas Schäfer and Klaus Foidl

In super weather from Kaisers over the Kaiseralpe and the untracked Stierlahnzug up to the Feuerspitze (2851m). Despite a great view into the distance the eyes were drawn to the Wetterspitze opposite - so much so that it was put on the plan for the next day.

Trailhead: Sulzlbach im Lechtal
Duration: 5 - 6 hours

From Sulzlbach over the Sulzlalm to the Simms Hut and then onwards on an excellent path to the Fallenbacher Joch and further to the route to the Wetterspitze (2898m). The last 100m to the peak are climbing - with an almost better view than the previous day.

Trailhead: Madau

In the afternoon with Klaus to the Memminger Hut (overnight). At sunrise along the Spiehlerweg over 3 passes, 2x fixed cableways down and 2x fixed cableways up to the Patrol - Scharte, then down again to the snowfield before the approach to the Parseier. After 4 hours of pure walking the peak is reached - Parseierspitze (3036m)

The "Queen Parseier", as it's known, is the highest point in the Lechtaler Alp and also the only three-thousander. The proud peak is situated in a lonely paradise for mountain walkers. The panorama from the peak is overpowering.

View: From the Säuling to the Zugspitze, Inn valley, Wildspitze, Ortler through to the Bernina - Group. The Lech valley, the Tannheimer via the Hochvogel and into Switzerland.

Opinion: A dream!
