Starkenberger Biermythos/Bierschwimmbad
The Schloss Starkenberg brewery in Tarrenz near Imst in Tirol opened its new "beer experience" in June 2005 entitled the "Myth of Beer".

Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens
The theme of this underground world is the crystal as the symbol of renewal. The Swarovski Crystal Worlds were designed by the world-famous multimedia artist Andre Heller as a modern chamber of wonders.

Ötzi - Dorf
This "archaeological open-air park" offers visitors a journey back to the Stone Age. At the end, plan in time for a walk to the Stuiben waterfalls.

Planetarium in Schwaz
Planetary movements, the daily and annual course of the stars, cosmics events like eclipses and the unmanned Mars landing are all explained in the Planetarium. The programme changes every six months. Unsuitable for children under four years of age. Reservation recommended.

Schwaz Silver Mines
The Schwaz silver mines influenced business and politics in their day - and not just on a local but a global level. Nowadays only around 500 km of tunnels are still accessible. A modern access tunnel and a rail journey leads visitors into the Sigmund Erbstollen, bored in 1491, and past original features of the tunnels. At a depth of 800m the walk, guided by trained mining staff, follows the story of the original miners.

Alpinarium Galtür
Galtür was hit by a severe avalanche in February 1999. As part of the process in dealing with the causes and effects of this tragedy, the Alpinarium was created. It is designed to be a documentary centre for life in the high alpine regions as well as an academy and exhibition centre.

Schloss Tratzberg in Stans
Schloss Tratzberg has been renovated as a prime example of a Tyrolean castle from the 16th century and is one of the most important artistic and cultural sites in the province. In the castle it is possible to take a cultural tour back into its history.

Stams Monastery
Between 1600 and 1800 Stams Monastery reached the peak of its riches and influence, which showed itself in the many building projects and thus to the present-day prime example of the Baroque period of architecture.

Pilgrimage Church Maria Locherboden
The piligrimage church of Maria Locherboden stands like a beacon on the heights of the Sassberg below the Mieminger range of mountains.

Elbigenalp Woodcarving School
A unique type of training in Austria, this school offers an extensive course in figurative and ornamental decoration. The exhibition consists of handmade pieces by the students.

Natural Dairy Lechtal
The Lechtal Naturkäserei is situated between the Lechtaler and Allgäuer Alps at an altitude of 1123m. Forty mountain farmers supply the cheesemaking dairy with fresh milk twice a day through autumn, winter and spring. The milk is premium quality because of the herbs and flowers in the pastures between 1600-2500m. The milk is prepared daily and the cheese is produced using traditional methods. Open daily from 08.00 - 18.00.
